プラントから放たれた光のドームが、都市を包み込んでいった。

光のドームが消えたあとには、何も残っていなかった。
かつて都市だったモノは瓦礫と化し、人々の姿は消失していた。
そこはまるで月面のようだった。
残された人々は、光のドームの謎を解き明かそうと跡地へと足を踏み入れようとした。
しかし、そこで彼らは信じられない現象に遭遇する。
見えない壁があるかのように、ドームの内側には一歩も踏み入れることができないのだ。
不思議なことに、他の生物は自由に行き来しているが、人間だけがその境界を超えることができない。

ただ一つ言えることは、光の中心点にたどり着くことは、もはや不可能であるということだ。
誰も近づけない瓦礫の山は空に向かってそびえ立ち、風が吹くたびに鉄のかけらがきしむ音だけが聞こえた。
その廃墟の中で、ひとつの奇跡が起きていた。
瓦礫の山の一角が、まるで生きているかのようにゆっくりと動いていたのだ。
それは次第に形を変えていき、やがて人の姿になった。
それも、純真な少女の姿に。
その少女は、灰色の髪と肌を持ち、無垢な瞳で空を見上げていた。

瓦礫の中から、少女たちが次々と現れた。
彼女たちは人間でもなく機械でもない、新しい種類の生命体だった。
